CVG Air Service Survey

In January we launched an informal survey to gather information on the region’s air travel habits. The survey was sponsored by the Regional Air Service Development Committee, a group of airport and community leaders focused on increasing service and making CVG more competitive.

The survey drew a tremendous response. We thank the nearly 17,000 people who shared information about their travel habits. The results were overwhelming. Far more people than ever reported that they were using alternate airports, flying less, or not flying at all due to the cost of air travel.

As thousands of responses poured in — and before the results were even tabulated — Delta announced that it would reduce fares at CVG.
The following week, Delta introduced price reductions of up to 60 percent. Other airlines quickly followed suit.

Even as new fares draw travelers back to CVG, the takeaway from the survey is clear. It’s more important than ever that the airport and community continue working together to ensure competitive prices and high levels of service so vital to our economy.
As individuals, we must support the airlines that now offer the service and prices so important to our quality of life.

We again thank everyone who shared his or her input. And a special thanks to the community organizations that sponsored and helped promote the survey. We will share the results with Delta and other airlines, with the hope of growing the number of flights and keeping the fares at CVG competitive.
